A Working Record of Projects Large and Small.

Handy Ron’s archive follows years of practical work—outdoor structures, porches, steps, railings, interior finishes, repairs, and the small details that complete a project. This page gives that work a clear, permanent home without separating it from the larger R&M family story.

The story behind the work

Useful Work Becomes Family History.

A repair may begin as a practical need, but the photographs preserve more than the finished result. They record how a place changed, what was built by hand, and the care invested in making something last.

The Handy Ron collection stretches across nearly two decades. Together, the projects show patience, problem-solving, adaptability, and pride in a job brought to completion.

More stories from the work

The projects matter, but so do the people, habits, and history behind them.

Where Handy Ron Began

The story started before the business had a name, repairing the concrete stairs at Aunt Linda’s lake house in Sterling, Massachusetts.

Built in Conway

In July 2003, Handy Ron formally took shape at a Conway campground after years of hands-on repairs, improvements, and problem-solving.

Word of Mouth Worked

Customers became friends. Careful work led to the next call, so the business grew mainly through referrals instead of traditional advertising.

Michelle Made It Run

Michelle handled calls, scheduling, customer care, billing, banking, books, and taxes—and often worked right beside Ron on the job.

Repairs Became Complete Homes

Ceiling fans, disposals, doors, painting, and rot repair grew into larger renovations and complete-home projects with memorable reveals.

Work Across the Carolinas

Service and installation work reached Walmart, Sam’s Club, Sure Hands Lift & Care, and Best Buy locations across South Carolina and sometimes North Carolina.

The Handy Ron Tool Rule

We have it all. If we do not have it, buy one—the right tool should make the job easier and will probably be useful again.

Work That Still Holds Up

The best proof comes years later: returning to a finished project and seeing it still look the way it did when the work was completed.
