Devils Fork State Park in Context

Lake Jocassee covers 7,565 acres beneath the Jocassee Gorges, and Devils Fork provides its only public access. Four mountain streams and multiple waterfalls feed the lake, helping create its cool, unusually clear water.

02

What Makes It Distinct

Boating, paddling, trout fishing, swimming, and scuba diving all begin at the shoreline. In early spring, the Oconee Bell Nature Trail adds a rare wildflower found in only a limited region.

Following the R&M Album

Ron and Michelle’s album spans summer 2021 through September 2022. The photographs follow lake color, mountain horizons, boats, shoreline, and park details across more than one trip.

04

Why This Story Belongs

Devils Fork belongs because the lake changes the scale of a state-park visit. The shoreline is only the start; waterfalls and distant coves turn open water into the real trail system.
