What Makes It Special
The park offers both a classic beach day and a closer look at Lowcountry ecology. More than four miles of accessible trails connect maritime forest and hammock-island scenery with an Environmental Learning Center featuring fossils, live animals and exhibits about Edisto Island and the ACE Basin.
Interesting Facts
The park was one of 16 South Carolina state parks developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Its trail system includes more than four miles of accessible routes. Seven furnished cabins sit near the salt marsh.
