Camping at the Edge of the Intracoastal Waterway

Buck Hall places campsites, a boat landing, and the Palmetto Trail beside the Intracoastal Waterway. It is both a destination of its own and a practical gateway toward Bulls Bay and Cape Romain.

Buck Hall Recreation Area in Context

The U.S. Forest Service describes Buck Hall as a premier recreation area on the site of the former Buck Hall plantation. Its location beside the Intracoastal Waterway shapes nearly every part of the visit.

02

What Makes It Distinct

The campground includes RV and tent sites, while the landing opens routes toward Bulls Bay and Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. The Awendaw Passage of the Palmetto Trail gives hikers another way to follow the coastal edge.

03

Following the R&M Album

Ron and Michelle’s album stretches from winter 2021 into summer 2022. That range shows Buck Hall as more than a quick boat launch: it is a place to camp, watch the water, and use as a base for a wider Lowcountry day.

04

Why This Story Belongs

Buck Hall belongs because it connects systems—national forest, waterway, trail, refuge, and local coastal history—inside one compact recreation stop.

Intracoastal Gateway Connection
