Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site in Context
On August 19, 1780, roughly 200 Patriot militia faced a combined force of Loyalist militia and British provincial troops near Musgrove’s Mill. The unexpected Patriot victory became an important morale boost after recent defeats.
