Orange County Choppers
The Newburgh headquarters that helped turn custom motorcycle fabrication into television history.
Read the StoryWhere Custom Motorcycles Became Television
Ron and Michelle visited Orange County Choppers in Newburgh on June 14, 2011, during the company’s celebrated New York era. Their photographs preserve a road-trip stop connected to custom fabrication, bold themed motorcycles, and one of television’s best-known motorcycle shops.
From Steelwork to Custom Motorcycles
Orange County Choppers grew from Paul Teutul Sr.’s background in steel fabrication. He founded OCC in 1999, and the company’s first motorcycle, True Blue, debuted that year at Daytona Biketoberfest.
American Chopper Changed Everything
The television series American Chopper introduced viewers to the design, fabrication, deadlines, and family dynamics behind OCC’s one-of-a-kind motorcycles. The show turned the New York shop and its builders into an internationally recognized part of motorcycle culture.
The Newburgh Headquarters
The large Newburgh facility opened in 2008 to combine production, retail, and the visitor experience. It became the public face of the company during an important period of the television series. OCC later moved its primary visitor operation to Florida, making photographs of the Newburgh location part of the brand’s earlier history.
The R&M Visit
Ron and Michelle’s June 2011 album records the Newburgh complex while it was still an active OCC destination. This is the kind of road-trip stop that becomes more valuable with time: the building changed, but the photographs kept the moment.
OCC history was checked against official Orange County Choppers information and documented Newburgh facility history. Original photographs remain credited to R&M Adventures.
